Getting a Free Library Card
You may apply for a new library card by visiting Germantown Community Library. Be sure to bring a photo ID and something that will provide proof of address when coming to pick up your new card.
Those patrons under 18 years of age will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who can present proof of
address and sign as the responsible party when the minor wishes to have their own library card.
Non-resident patrons are charged a yearly $50 non-resident card fee.
The following defines who is eligible for a library card at no charge:
* Residents of Germantown and their immediate family members. Proof of residency is a paid utility bill or, for renters, a copy of a lease.
* Students who are enrolled in public or private schools in Germantown, grades Kindergarten through 12. Proof of
enrollment is the most recent report card.
* Teachers who work in public and private schools in Germantown.
* Owners of businesses located in Germantown, and their immediate families. Proof required is a paid property tax
statement for their business.
* Full-time Germantown City employees.
* Patrons who receive outreach services offered by the Library.
* Active members of the Tennessee Genealogical Society.
* Germantown Community Library staff.
Please note: Patrons who reside in the municipality of other Wolf River Library Consortium member libraries in Arlington, Collierville,
and Millington are eligible to have a free card, with restrictions, or may choose to purchase a full-service card for $50 per year.
